Meet the Author!

Eve, Zvichanzi Nyemba is an analytically-minded Author, International Relations Specialist and Development Practitioner. She is the holder of a PhD in Political Studies (University of Johannesburg), Master of Science in International Relations Degree (University of Zimbabwe) and Bachelor of Science Degree in Politics and Administration (University of Zimbabwe). She has over 15 years’ experience working in various capacities as Country Expert, Research Adviser, Head of Research and Development, International Relations Lecturer and Senior Programmes Officer . She has over 17 publications to her name including books, book chapters and articles in referred journals. Her research interests are in Foreign Policy, Diplomacy, Democratic Governance, Gender and Politics. She was born in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. She is the second child in a family of five. She developed an avid interest in reading  at a very young age when her father paid subscriptions for her to borrow and read books at a local library in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. It was not long before she developed an interest in writing itself. 

 

When she was 13 years, she participated in a writing contest by The Sunday Mail Newspaper and won a book, entitled When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit. Winning the contest, boosted her confidence and at the age of 16 she wrote her first manuscript. Eve's short story, Light A Candle was the cover title for the book, Light A Candle published by HIVOs, National AIDS Council and Zimbabwe Women Writers. The book advocates for the empowerment of women in the fight against HIV/AIDS. 

Eve published When God Changed His Mind in a collection of 33 stories and poems from 33 Women in Africa published by the University of Wisconsin Press Limited in the United States of America. Her poetry has also been published in the Moto Magazine. Eve began performing poetry at Book Cafe culminating in the publication of Look Within/ Aus Voller Seele by Kalliope Paperbacks in Germany.  In 2017, Eve authored Paradise Stories, a captivating children's story book which was Nominated in the Literary Category for Outstanding Children’s Book for the 2018th National Arts Merits Awards (NAMA) in Zimbabwe. Paradise Stories was approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in Zimbabwe as a reading resource for children.
